Van Doorne advises Rockfield Real Estate on its partnership with ABP to develop sustainable and affordable rental housing in the Netherlands

We advised our valued and longstanding client Rockfield Real Estate, a leading European investment manager focused on sustainable housing solutions, on its partnership with ABP to develop sustainable and affordable rental housing in the Netherlands.

The partnership, established under the name Student & Starter Social Living Venture (SSLV), has launched with an initial capital commitment of €350 million and aims to deliver more than 2,000 rental homes for students and starters through a focus on large-scale projects in student cities facing acute housing shortages, with a long-term focus on affordability, quality and resilience.

The team advising on all legal aspects of the transaction was led by Funds & Investment Management partner Daan Horsthuis and included Harm-Paul Plas, Elise Stormmesand, Tess Klappe, Bastiaan van den Boogaard, Maarten Appels, Tess Lont, Özer Zivali and Liza Bex .
