Listed company TMG is the largest Dutch media company in the Netherlands, with strong brands such as De Telegraaf, DFT, Telesport, Metro, Autovisie, Privé and VROUW; regional dailies such as Noordhollands Dagblad and de Gooi- en Eemlander; digital brands such as GeenStijl, Dumpert and Gaspedaal; Classic FM and – through a strategic collaboration – national radio stations Sky Radio, Radio Veronica, Radio 538 and Radio 10.
TMG received an unsolicited indicative bids from a consortium composed of Mediahuis (a major Belgian media company) and VP Exploitatie (the investment company of the Van Puijenbroek family, also being a major shareholder of TMG) and from Talpa Holding (the media company owned by John de Mol). Van Doorne assisted the Supervisory Board in its negotiations with Mediahuis/VP Exploitatie and Talpa and in the subsequent succesful negotiations of a Merger Protocol with Mediahuis/VP Exploitatie, followed by a succesful bid by the latter on TMG.
