Van Doorne in Chambers Europe 2026: growth you can see in the figures

There are firms that send the same message every year about their Chambers rankings. This is not that message.
Because if you compare our results from recent years with 2026, you will see something that goes beyond individual recognition: Van Doorne is growing structurally. From 16 to 19 team rankings. From 26 to 36 personal rankings. And a nomination for the Chambers ‘Law Firm of the Year’, recognition for the development of the firm as a whole.
Growth in a changing market
This growth is taking place in a market that is changing faster than ever. The major transitions of our time, the energy transition, digitalization, healthcare reform and financial regulation create enormous opportunities for specialist legal advice. But they also bring uncertainty.
We believe that Van Doorne distinguishes itself in precisely this context. Not as a firm that reacts to change, but as a firm that embraces change, as a single integrated whole, multidisciplinary, and with people as its starting point. Because change is brought about by people. And that is exactly what we invest in. We are extremely proud of these rankings; they are proof that the next generation at Van Doorne is not only ready for the future, but is actively helping to shape it. Looking ahead to 2026, we anticipate continued growth and a further strengthening of our distinctive profile.
Three new team rankings
This year, we welcome three new teams to the Chambers rankings:
- Employment: Pensions — Spotlight
- International & Cross-Border Disputes — Band 3
- Restructuring/Insolvency — Band 4
Our Band 1 positions in Healthcare, Insurance, TMT: Data Protection, TMT: IT & IT Outsourcing and White-Collar Crime & Corporate Investigations have been maintained. Energy & Natural Resources rose from Band 4 to Band 3.
Ten new personal rankings and what that says
Ten Van Doorne lawyers have been individually ranked by Chambers for the first time this year. That figure tells a story about how we operate as a firm: we develop talent from within, give young partners the space to grow on complex cases, and in doing so build a foundation that stands the test of time.
Van Doorne encourages a focus on collective results, continuous development and long-term value creation for clients. In a market where new entrants and technology are changing the rules of the game, this is no mere detail; it is a conscious choice.
The Chambers rankings confirm that this choice is the right one. Behind every ranking is a name we are proud of. It is our talent that has been recognised by Chambers for the first time this year as the lawyers who will shape Van Doorne’s future.
Newly ranked: Bregje Korthals Altes, Daan Beenders, Frederike Ahlers, Harm-Paul Plas, Jan Roeland, Jelmer Baukema, Joost Volkers, Maurits Terlouw, Pim Jansen, Steffen Alleman.
Rising in the rankings:
- Sijbren Kuiper and Jan Leliveld to Band 1
- Sarah Beeston and Léone Klapwijk to a higher band
- Steven Sterk and Cara Pronk to a higher ranking
Nomination for the Chambers ‘Law Firm of the Year’
Van Doorne has been nominated for the Chambers ‘Law Firm of the Year’. This recognition is fitting for a firm that never stands still. We look forward to what 2026 will bring, for our clients, for our people, and for Van Doorne as a whole.
