Biography
Sarah Beeston trained in the UK as a corporate and commercial lawyer. She has subsequently specialised in EC and competition law, dealing with cartel, dominance and merger cases and state aid and public procurement issues. Sarah's commercial training and competition law expertise have also allowed her to develop a practice advising on international distribution systems.
Sarah obtained a degree in Linguistic and International Studies from Surrey University and the Solicitors Final Exam from the Law Society of England and Wales. She started her working life at the European Commission in Brussels before entering private practice in 1991. She joined Landwell in April 1998 to lead the European and Competition Law Section in the Netherlands. Since the merger with Van Doorne in January 2004, Sarah has led the practice group European and Competition Law. Her work involves a wide range of EC and national competition law issues.
Sarah publishes regularly on current aspects of EU (competition) law and gives seminars and runs workshops for clients and advisors mainly in the Netherlands and the UK. Sarah has been recommended by several international law directories, such as the Chambers 2008: "Committed, common-sense lawyer", "solid at EC level, applying the law from a Netherlands base but also coming from an Anglo-Saxon perspective, breaking down cultural barriers and knowing the wavelength the lawyers are on."
