Biography
Albert van Marwijk Kooy (1958) studied law at the University of Groningen and took an postgraduate LLM degree at Duke University in the USA. He became a partner at Van Doorne in 1993 and has long-standing, combined expertise and experience in employment law, pension law and corporate law. The experience he gained as managing partner at Van Doorne and in various board positions enables him to understand the language and needs of the business community.
Albert has represented many clients in complex employment law actions, including a groundbreaking case involving compensation for 100 elderly employees dismissed by Fokker after the company's bankruptcy. Various international directories recommend him as an expert in employment law.
Albert's focus is increasingly on pension matters, heading our pension desk. He now holds the title of Certified Pension Lawyer, granted by the Vrije Universiteit of Amsterdam. Albert had been recommended by legal counsel handbooks for his expertise in pensions (Legal 500, 2007).
