Biography
With almost twenty years’ experience in notarial practice, civil-law notary Saskia Laseur developed her professional expertise in The Hague, specialising in the semi-public sector. Saskia is committed to a modern interpretation of a civil-law notary’s duties: proactive legal advice, in addition to traditional notarial services. She puts this into practice both within the professional field and outside it, as evidenced, for example, by her three-year membership of the national board of the Royal Notarial Association (KNB).
She is active as civil-law notary and consultant for various governments, non-profit organisations and umbrella organisations. She regularly talks about her work at conventions, seminars and meetings, focusing on governance and long-term collaboration in the public sector and the duties and powers of managing directors and supervisors.
Among other things, Saskia Laseur is chair of the Education Team at Van Doorne N.V. and co-author of the Healthcare, Educational Institutions and Charities & Charity Foundations Toolkits, published by the National Register of Supervisory Directors and Regulatory Bodies (“Nationaal Register Commissarissen en Toezichthouders”). Saskia devotes attention to effective implementation and development of diversity policy. In part thanks to her efforts, the Van Doorne office won the Diversity Award for both the legal and the notarial profession in 2009.
