Biography

Els de Wind has a broad experience in advising clients in contentious and non-contentious employment matters. Her expertise includes advising on transfer of undertaking (TUPE), employment aspects of reorganizations and mergers and acquisitions, outsourcing, executives' contracts and European and international employment law (private international law).

In 1999 Els de Wind set up the global network of employment law experts within the Landwell/PricewaterhouseCoopers organization and acted as Global Head of Employment for this network until the merger between Landwell and Van Doorne on 1 January 2004. She has major experience in working in multidisciplinary teams, including pension consultants, tax experts and other HR specialists, and working with her peers abroad on cross-border projects.

Els de Wind is currently Chair of the European Employment Lawyers Association (EELA) and Senior Vice-Chair of the Employment and Industrial Relations Committee of the International Bar Association (IBA). She is a member of the American Bar Association (ABA) and of Cross-Border HR (XBHR). Els de Wind also holds memberships in the relevant Dutch employment law organizations. She regularly publishes articles and contributes to books and newsletters.

Els de Wind is a member of the Editorial Board of PLC Cross-Border Labour & Employee Benefits Handbook. Since 2010 Els is a member of the Alumni Board of the Law Faculty of Radboud University in Nijmegen. She is board member of Amsterdam Partners, a public-private venture which promotes the Amsterdam region in The Netherlands and abroad. She is a board member of the Dutch Humanity in Action, an organisation working to build global leadership, defend democracy, protect minorities and improve human rights. Els de Wind is currently chair of the board of the Amsterdam Performing Arts Festival.
